New District Road Director Appointed In Filer Area
N C Grant, formerly road supervisor in Power county, arrived last week to take over as road director of the Filer highway district. The post was vacated by C M McQuéry who resigned March 1 to take a job near Denver. Grant’s salary is 175 dollars monthly. The board also adopted a new wage scale effective this month: common labor 0 cents per hour, teams 20 cents per hour, and double mile road dragging 75 cents. A rock road project from the village southwest corner to the low line canal about a mile and a half long was approved, funded by a representative group that guarantees to haul the crushed rock.
