Terrible accident at new school building injures workers

A timber collapse at a new school construction around 9 am left one man buried under lumber and badly bruised while others sustained lesser injuries. The incident caused a crowd to gather as carpenters replaced the broken stringer and crews resumed work. No lives were lost.

Winstons Triumph in Close Championship Game

The Winstons of Huntingburg and the Reds played a tense Sunday park championship match. A wild throw in the eighth inning generated two Reds runs. otherwise the Reds would have claimed victory. A large crowd praised the contest and the visiting captain commended the Reds’ management and sportsmanship, inviting future games.

Tretter-Gress Wedding Reported Near Nebraska City

News arrives that Chas. Tretter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Tretter, wed Emma Grees of Nebraska City Nebraska last Tuesday. The couple plan to reside on a farm five miles west of Nebraska City and are wished long, happy, and prosperous years ahead.

Runaway horses damage buggy in Main Street incident

Philip Schweeppe of St. Henry had horses tied outside Guntav Weerter's harness shop on Wednesday morning. The horses were frightened by a cow and bolted up Main Street, overturning the buggy and nearly breaking it apart. No injuries were reported.
