Solemn Feast of St Benedict Honors Sisters in Indianapolis
On August 4 the feast of St Dominic marked a day of solemn rites for the Sisters of St Benedict in Indianapolis. A retreat led by Rev Gregory OSB preceded the ceremonies, with Rt Rev Joseph Chartrand delivering a sermon on following Christ. A solemn High Mass featured Father Luke OSB as celebrant and Father Celestine OSB as deacon, among others. Several young ladies received religious garb and vows, including Clementing Bonhomme and Laura Benken, with final vows pronounced for a number of sisters.

County Commissioners Session Grants Licenses and Posts
The County Commissioners met in regular session and approved liquor licenses for Frank H. Knapp and Charles Flick of Jasper and Mathias Olinger of Ferdi and. The treasurer’s report for the school town of Jaer was accepted. Resignation of Peter Vonderheide as Marion township assessor was accepted. Petitions from Wm. Rauscher for September session of a registration board and from Jos Gutaweller et al regarding Bainbridge roads were continued. Resignation of Wm Vaughn as township superintendent was noted.

Fall From Horse Fatal in St Anthony Indiana
August Haase died after being thrown when his horse stumbled while returning from Joseph Knnst. He died Sunday afternoon and was buried Tuesday in a Catholic graveyard after funeral services by Rev. Father Clement. Haase born in Germany 1885 immigrated to America 1859 with wife Theresia Lauzurich. He left eleven children, six living: Herman Gibson county Frank St Meinrad August Humphrey Joseph here Ben Pesatum Celestine, with many relatives attending. Requiescat in pace.

Greys Rally To Win Second Game Of Series
In a Sunday clash at the local park the Greys defeated the Tigers 4 to 2 to even the series. Louis Gasser Dies in Rope Accident at 15
Louis Gasser, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gasser, 15, was accidentally killed Saturday in Lr Mariah Hill Indiana when a rope around his neck caused choking during a swing. Found dead by his sister, funeral Monday at 9 o clock, Catholic cemetery interment. He leaves parents two brothers and two sisters and is mourned as bright and energetic. May he rest in peace.
