Evansville guests arrive to see their mother and grandmother. Various relatives from Louisville and Evansville spend time with local families and Miss Emily Mahle hosts a gathering at Limp home with treats and games.

Mathias Olinger applies to the Dubois County Board of Commissioners at the next August term 1914 for leave to sell spirituous vinous and malt liquors in quantities under a quart in his own name for one year. The business would be conducted in a 23 by 37 foot room on the ground floor of a two story concrete building at the southeast corner of lot 123 on Ohio Street, with luncheon and confection selling allowed subject to state liquor laws.

August Wirthwein visits from Evansville on a pleasure trip. Gust Tretter stays with relatives at St Meinrad. Sergesketter Contract Co. heads to Owensboro to build a residence for Henry Zogelman in Davies County. Abbot Concrete Co. near Collignon bridge under construction. Turtle soup and refreshments shared at John Holtzmann’s home with neighbors. Crooked Creek reportedly stocked after the last turtle hunt yielding 50. John Harm and Mrs. Collignon of Owensboro visited for a few days. Threshing machines return from the south, grain yields averaging 20 bushels per acre.
