Local notes report many visits and movements among residents. Beauty Griggs and Walter Turnipseed traveled to Atlanta with others visiting East Point and Jonesboro. Recent events include a land sale at Senoia on June 12 and 13, a district meeting, and a sheriff arrest in Fayette County.
Dirt was broken at Brooks last Tuesday the 4th instant for a new bank building. The one story 22 by 55 foot structure will use Chestlehurst brick and be built by W L Cole and Son of Senoia. Laying of brick starts at once and the vault will be secure. The bank aims to handle cotton and farm products, boosting rivalry with nearby towns.
A severe hailstorm swept Fayette county near Oak Grove School house and moved eastward through Clayton and Henry counties causing extensive crop damage and replanting efforts. No fatalities reported though the storm brought heavy ice and debris over a long path averaging about a mile.
The article notes Lester Dickson of Emory returning home after completing his third year and graduating in law. James Coppedge also returns from Emory, with faculty praise for his study dedication and satisfactory work.
Last Sunday afternoon at the bride's parents home in Mount Springs, Will Brown of this place married Miss Mary Padgett. Rev. J. D. Snyder officiated. Miss Padgett is the daughter of Mr and Mrs J W Padgett of South Fayette, Will Brown is son of M L Brown of West Fayette and works as clerk in W L Smith & Co. Best wishes are extended to the couple.
Miss Effie Landrum, who taught nine months in Walton county, returned to her Fayette county home last Saturday afternoon. She is praised by Walton officials for her work and will spend her vacation in Fayette county.
Hon J W Wise a Griffin District Institute trustee traveled to Zebulon last Monday for a trustees meeting. Prof Stephens was re elected as work during the past year earned general approval and the school is making progress.
Architect Butt of Butt Morris in Atlanta inspected the near finished parsonage on Wednesday. Contractors Norton and Redwine expect to finish the project this week.
John Cochran of West Fayette died after a lingering illness last Tuesday and was buried at Hopewell last Wednesday. He leaves a wife and several small children. The community offers sympathy to the bereaved family.
Rev Bonner filled his regular appointment Sunday and preached a good sermon. Several visitors and locals shared in Sunday activities including Johnie Shipp and wife from near Oak Grove, Miss Claudie Youngblood with Adrian Cleveland, Bud Tinsley and son Charner, and Arthur Walker from Atlanta. W T Adams is sick and John Cochran is very ill.

The wind and hail on last Thursday damaged many farmers crops with some cotton fields needing replanting. Oma Lee of Friendship attended Sunday school, Sam Stephen kept his usual appointment, a three year old child fell ill after mushroom eating but is improving. Chloe also notes visits to Mrs Joe Ballard.
At three o clock last Sunday afternoon at J. W. Padgett s home the couple Will Brown of Fayetteville and Mary Padgett of this place were married. Rev. Snyder officiated. Friends send wishes for a long happy life. Local social notes follow with arrivals visitors and illness updates.
