Ants Stimulate Runaway Horse At Central School

Sunday morning the horse owned by V. E Simanton, tied to a post at the Central school house, was bitten by large ants crawling from the post. The animal broke loose and ran home in one piece with no injuries reported.

Oil stove explodes at Dorrington home

An oil stove exploded Saturday afternoon at the home of W. E. Dorrington causing great alarm in the neighborhood. Mrs. Dorrington was preparing supper and escaped serious injury by lifting the flaming stove outside. Neighbors aided as water buckets quenched the flames.

Game At Horton Ends With Falls City Victory

The Falls City nine beat Horton 6 to 3 in a nine inning game last Sunday afternoon. Ruegge and Poteet pitched well as Sears opened with a three base hit. Four Colts hits came in the first inning as Horton players collected three errors.

Fatal Accident Near Stella Killed Alexander Brisby

Alexander Brisby aged 22 died at 8 pm after a through freight in Stella struck him as he attempted to board at high speed. He lost limbs and suffered a skull wound. he had been living on a farm near Stella and previously near Omaha. Local Missour mp agent alerted Dr. Reneker who arrived after the fatal injuries.

Naturalization law takes effect September 27 1906

The new U S naturalization law becomes effective on September 27 1906 with strict verification by Washington. Many county residents are entitled yet have not secured papers. they may proceed under the old law in district court from September 17 to 27.
