Falls City high school placed fifth among eighteen at the state meet in Lincoln. Rhodewald won first in hammer and third in shot put while Falloon took second in the mile and contributed to a narrow relay loss to Omaha. Burnham edged Falloon by inches to win the mile in a new state record 5 00 15 minutes. Lundy of Shubert also placed sixth, highlighting the field.

Knight Templers confer Knighthood and feast at Masonic Temple
Last Friday night degree work was in order with three Humboldt gentlemen Milton Katouc Bottinmal Frahbauer and Rudolph Vertiska receiving Knighthood. A four course dinner at Sowles dining hall followed with palms and ferns decorations and carnations on the table. Knights from Pawnee City Humboldt and Auburn attended and later the initiatory work was completed.

Falls City High School Commencement Exercises
The Falls City High School will hold commencement exercises on Thursday evening May 2 at five o clock. The program includes a class performance, music by the chorus and band, and an address by Mr Edwin Maxey of the University of Nebraska College of Law. Eighth Grade Commencement Honored At Local High School
The eighth grade class of twenty nine held a program in the high school assembly room on Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Graham mashed his right foot when a heavy timber fell at his lumber yard last Saturday. Dr. Houston treated and bandaged the injury. He is recovering on crutches and thankful the damage was not more serious.

City Council Weighs Utilities Costs and Band Stand Fund
