Dorrington Wigton injured while swinging on a cable last Saturday when attempting to jump a high bar. A bone in his right arm fractured just above the wrist. Dr. Boose attended and set the bone. He is recovering and doing nicely.
Lewis Wise, a six member entry from a club, won a ten dollar prize in the Woman's National Review contest. He is praised as a hustler and hoped to gain further prizes through his success.
The Park Association has bought lumber for the Tabernacle and will use it to build a large auditorium at the Park after Revival meetings. The plan promises a spacious stage and seating for all public gatherings including religious and political conventions. The town aims to attract large conventions and assemblies, showcasing Falls City’s spirit, hospitality, and enterprise.
J L Beaulieu of Falls City Nebraska has purchased the confectionery store formerly owned by M Keith in Missoula Montana. He visited the city last September, was impressed, plans changes, and will operate the business with experience in catering to the public. Sale arranged through Stancliff and Hoverson. The Herald’s editors W BE and W A Hassler, Pawnee City roots, are praised as rising newspaper men.
The Board of Supervisors met in several days of session last week and conducted orderly business as a board of equalization. Claims totaling 35 17.32 from the general fund and 38 200.85 from the bridge fund were approved before ad journing on Thursday.
In regular session Monday June 17 the City Council passed an ordinance for the annual appropriation covering expenses from May 7 to May 1908 totaling 322,800. The ordinance itemizes each expense, its amount, and the fund source. Bond matters were discussed but no official action taken. The council adjourned to reconvene Monday June 24.
Evangelist Oliver leads revival at the tabernacle drawing large Sunday night attendance. A 200 voice choir under Prof Oliver highlights the service while 90 to 100 attendees have decided to live for God. The piece urges unity in the moral regeneration effort with God versus Satan framed as the choice.
Five members of Joseph Loll mans family were poisoned Monday night after eating strawberries. The berries likely had been sprayed with an insect disinfectant containing arsenic. The family suffered hours of illness but are reported recovering nicely.
The Rev Daniel George Cole of Deerlodge Montana arrived here last Friday after accepting the call of the First Christian church of this place. He is praised as a Christian gentleman and an orator of ability and power. The community extends a welcome and wishes him success and many friends among the townspeople.
Grandma Dilts left Wednesday for Santa Cruz California to visit her daughter Mrs. W R Adams and her son Charlie Dilts. We wish her a pleasant trip.
The band stand is finished except for painting and reflects earnest efforts of builders. It adorns the square and the city with attractive design and ample lighting. Compliments abound for the structure, which fills a long felt need. Concerts will be held each Thursday evening all summer.

Bill McCray leads the hellraisers association in protesting town board actions. he pays costs after court ruling for the board. Bleuer versus The First National Bank of Humboldt decided with a verdict against the bank for 2554.66. Latter divorce case from Dawson was heard. Stewart v Wyden drainage case to follow before summer adjournment.
Two children of Albert Crouse have diphtheria in a serious form. Health officials report immediate notification and quarantine of the premises. A three year old child died last week, though not clearly diphtheria, and the recent developments surprised local residents.
Union House enhances guest convenience with a long distance phone and a well lighted booth in the office. Landlord McPherson keeps facilities up to date for visiting guests.

Butterfield spouses deed to Harriet Bohrer blocks 10 through 14 Nims addition Humboldt for 250. J W Bourne and Alawna Bourne deed to E E Ewing ownership of Verdon Nebraska lots 4 and 5 for 1250.

A. Cooper of Humboldt married Mrs. Minnie Akers on June 18 at the bride's Council Bluffs home. They plan a Colorado sightseeing month then return to Humboldt. Cooper is a well known local business figure with many friends who extend congratulations.
Mrs. Harry Jenne hosted Kalfee Klautch Tuesday afternoon at her North Stone street home with a large club turnout and a bountiful 5 30 supper served by her sister Miss Slocum. Miss Allie Keelingy entertained about sixteen friends Wednesday with a Kensington compliment to Miss Virginia Mead of Omaha. Dr and Mrs Minor issued invitations for an evening at Wahl's hall complimentary to Mr and Mrs Harry Rathburn of Lincoln. Miss Ella Miller of Falls City to marry June 22 in Omaha, to Mr John Ward of Tecumseh. Ward is nephew of John Gilliwan of Falls City and has many local friends.
Local wedding notes announce Fulton Gantt and Edith Mullholland married on Tuesday June 1 in Langdon Wy. Gantt, a longtime local, is praised for character and work with telephone companies. Edith is described as charming and intelligent. Well wishes from many friends follow.
Mrs Peter Resterer hosted a small party at a Kensington in honor of her sister Mrs Shreck of Oklahoma City Oklahoma. About a dozen ladies attended and the afternoon was a jolly delightful affair with refreshments served by Mrs Mmettz. The hosts were praised for their hospitality.
A. J. Larabee of Dawson visited yesterday and renewed his faith in the family journal, which we acknowledge with thanks.
Clarence Heck visited St. Joe about a week ago on a pleasure and business trip and has given special attention to a fine horse he owns, with plans to sell it at a high price in the city market.
Raphael Demers of Lordsburg North Dakota visits his brother Napolian Demers after twenty four years. He walked into a barber shop on Tuesday, requested a haircut and shave from Napolian who did not recognize him at first. After the cut the brothers revealed their kinship, causing mutual surprise and happiness.

Lady Pearl, a palmist, lodged at the Lindell hotel toward week’s end. Despite hopes, business appeared dull as locals did not seem to value or profit from her foretold fortunes. Landlord Curran ended with no extra wealth after the visitor’s stay.
