Death of J. L. Hays Prominent County Settler

After an illness of about a year J L Hays of Stella died Monday this week. He was a well known county figure, an early settler who built a renowned rural home fifty seven years ago. He leaves a widow and two daughters. The funeral was held at the family home and burial followed in Prairie Union cemetery.
