Newton Man Killed By Train Near Colfax
Colfax Ia Nov 23 Harvey Stotler of Newton died at the Victoria hotel at noon today from injuries after a fall from a Rock Island fast train last night about one mile east of Colfax. He was found this forenoon by a passerby and later died. He was about 27, single, and lived with his parents in Newton. His father and brother came to Colfax for the body, which would be returned to Newton for burial.

Guard Shot Prisoner Freed Des Moines Despatch
Henry N Vollmer the prisoner shot by his guard during an escape from Fort Des Moines died early Sunday from wounds. Five-year-old Charlie Hall swept into millrace
Cedar Rapids Iowa reports Little Charlie Hall aged five, whose mother died last July after his baby sister. He wandered to the riverbank junk yard where his father works. Slipping into the mill race, the child was carried away and recovered two hours later in the mills.
