Loxton May 15. After the Queen and Prince and Princess of Wales had tea at the Mansion House on Saturday two gold spoons were missed. They were probably taken as souvenirs by attendants.

Swan Bros Cattle Firm Faces Major Liabilities in Cheyenne

Cheyenne reports Swan Bros a major cattle firm with liabilities around 300000 dollars and assets not yet estimable. A. H. Swan and partners assigned May 14 to A. H. Kell and F. W. Lafrontz after a Davenport bank attachment for 225000 dollars. Principal creditors include Chicago and New York banks and Cheyenne First National. sale of assets may only cover about half debts.

Forest Fires Rage Across Northern Michigan Peninsula

Federal court frees Des Moines constable in contempt case

The May term opened in Des Moines with Judge Love ruling on the case against Constable Frank Pierce for contempt for refusing to deliver liquor seized in a replevin. He held courts share sovereignty, that a state or federal officer acts within their own court, and discharged Pierce with judges Brewer and Shirras concurring.

Sensation in Amputated Arm Reported in Florida

Florida man George W. Clay had his arm amputated and buried in a box. After burial he complained of cramped fingers and sand between them. When the box was dug up the fingers were found cramped with sand, and after reburial he felt pain and then relief in the amputated limb.
