Lewis Fordyce Died at Ninety One After Long Public Service
Lewis Fordyce died aged ninety one at his Libertyville home after age related illness. A pioneer settler arriving in 1831 he helped found Van Buren and Jefferson counties and served in the Iowa General Assembly. Survived by wife Mary Newby and six of eight children with several grandchildren. Funeral held near Libertyville with Fairfield attendees.
