Ninety year old Sallie Harmony Found Burned At Home
Knoxville Iowa February 4 Mrs Sallie Harmony age ninety pioneer of Marion County was found dead burned to death at her Columbia home twelve miles south of Knoxville. Her body lay beside her chair in front of her stove at seven yesterday morning. She had lived alone for years and was supported by Alfred Phelps whose family checked on her daily. Her pipe lay nearby and investigators believe a spark from the pipe or an overheated stove caused the clothes to ignite. The cottage escaped fire despite the tragedy.

La Porte Man Attempts Suicide Over Fine
Sheldon Carlysle aged 50 of La Porte attempted suicide by ingesting twenty grains of morphine and opening the arteries in both wrists. Found delirious and bleeding, he was saved by physicians and taken to a hospital in Waterloo where his life was saved and prognosis good.
