County Agents Were Busy in 1917 18 Year
The 1917 18 fiscal year saw 28 agents work a full year while 72 were appointed for shorter periods. Across the period agents spent 10 190 days in the field and spoke to 181 472 farm bureau callers. The 1919 federal income and profits taxes total about 6 billion dollars with the first third due March 15 1919. Investors may buy these direct Treasury obligations and the certificates will be accepted in payment when due. Alfred Lear dies at 62. heart trouble in Fairfield
Alfred Lear, 62, died December 5 at his home on 200 West Hempstead street after a year of ill health. Funeral services were held December 7 at the home with Rev. R. H. Polly. burial followed in Dallas City, Illinois. Born in Philadelphia, he moved to Illinois in 1870, married Irene Schaffner in 1896, and lived in Fairfield since 1900. He survived by his wife, four stepchildren, a brother, two sisters, and seven grandchildren.
