Boone marriage stopped by arrest in kidnapping case

In Boone Iowa Constable Shadle arrested Guy Stone and halted a planned elopement with Jessie Griffith. Stone faces charges of kidnapping a female under 18 against her will amid unclear ties to a deceased brother and life insurance. Stone posted bail and awaits morning hearing. Griffith sent home.

William Barton Arrested in Rape Case

William Barton, 47, is jailed in Bedford Iowa charged with raping the five year old daughter of Tom Moneyhan. The alleged crime occurred yesterday evening in the harvest field where Barton worked. Barton is held for a Grav ity lay judge after waiving examination. neighbors and relatives fear the outcome but seek a fair trial.

Mrs Dye accuses husband in dye poison case

Mrs Sherman Dye, once seen as loyal to her husband amid the Miss Rena Nelson poisoning, files district court charges asserting he spent money on other women and pursued younger partners. The Nelson case involved candy said to be doped, sent by Nelson to frighten Dye, and had earlier spurred jealousy accusations against Mrs Dye.

Hold Nagel and Collette in Brady Murder Case

William Nagel and Josephine Collette are held for the May 9 1905 murder of Carl Brady on Island B Muscatine. Brady’s skull fracture and buried body in a cave near the Nagel shack tied to a large houseboat dispute. They accuse each other as authorities take them to Rock Island for trial.

The Golden State Limited derailed in Des Moines after rails spread while westbound from Rock Island Colorado. One passenger Chris Ackerman of Chicago was seriously injured. eighteen aboard escaped major harm as the train, traveling about sixty mph, left a 25 foot embankment but brakes reduced speed to avert fatalities.

Farmer Archie Richardson Dies After Horse Kick Near Brooklyn

Archie Richardson of Brooklyn Iowa, a prominent farmer, died after hours of suffering from injuries when kicked by a horse days earlier. He had returned home for dinner with three companions, jumped from the rig and began unhitching, placing a hand on the horse without speaking.

Nebraska Game Warden Fined for Illegal Fishing

H D Pierson of Onawa Iowa was arrested on a complaint by Monona county deputy fish warden George R Norton for illegal fishing in Blue lake. He pleaded guilty and paid a $5 fine plus costs to Justice C M Ross. Pierson claimed to be a Nebraska fish and game warden and had a permit from Iowa but was fined.

Farmer Struck by Freight Train Near Sioux Rapids

Syvert Anderson, a wealthy farmer, was struck by a south bound freight train while crossing the Minneapolis and St. Louis tracks near Sioux Rapids. He suffered a fractured skull and a broken collar bone and is expected to die.
