Ames student J. G. Emerson won first prize of 75 dollars with Leander Clark’s C. L. Young taking second. Parsons College and Iowa Wesleyan also placed, as nine colleges competed at Barhydt Chapel. The event featured orations on world peace and US leadership with judges from various cities.
