Merritt Parkway to restore original scenic grandeur
The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced an aesthetic upgrade for a 17.25 mile section from the Westport-Fairfield line to the Housatonic River in Stratford. Landscaping will revert to the 1994 Master Plan, with overgrowth cleared and evergreens replaced to preserve the Parkway’s historic park like setting. The $763,600 project will run 270 days starting in March, with minimal traffic impact.
