Circle Diner proposal stirs Fairfield neighborhood protests

Residents near Fuji Mountain Sushi & Steak House oppose a 24 hour Circle Diner planned by FAST LLC at the Post and Old Post roads site. Neighbors fear traffic and noise, while backers say hours could be scaled back to protect peace and quiet. Elementary expansions under redistricting plan move forward

The Board of Education advances Plan B for redistricting to add four classrooms at Roger Sherman and three at Dwight Holland Hill and Stratfield, with one each at Jennings and Riverfield. The effort, linked to a 2000 facilities plan, aims to raise capacity from 4515 to 5019 to avoid crowding by 2006 07 while avoiding heavy reliance on portable rooms.
