Martin Joseph Liblin born May 24 1860 in Cedar township Iowa lived there until recent years. He married Mary A Gilbert Feb 6 1900 and later served as deputy sheriff and city marshal. He died Sept 22 1904 after illness from whooping cough pneumonia and tuberculosis. He leaves a wife, daughter, mother, brothers, sisters and several lodges noted for his loyal, helpful nature. Funeral held at his residence with Knights Templars Masons Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias in attendance.
The wedding of Fred McClain and Miss Alta Parker occurred yesterday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents in Cedar township. Rev. Thomas Osborn of the Methodist church officiated. The couple left on the night train for St. Louis. They are well known here and receive many congratulations.

McPherson’s cattle and horses traveled from Iowa Indiana Minnesota and Michigan earlier in the season, earning high honors and large cash prizes, including a prized 1,800 pound cow and another valued at 600 dollars.
