Charles McGuire the packinghouse strike leader and Frank Caine a saloon keeper were indicted by the grand jury on conspiracy charges. They posted pickets and caused disorder to deter work at the Cudahy plant during the strike. McGuire had a prior manslaughter sentence. Caine faced assault with intent to kill charges and was discharged recently.

Cutting former president of Oto Savings bank Woodbury county Iowa was arrested in Chicago and is to be sent back to Sioux City Iowa on fourteen charges of embezzlement forgery and false banking authorities claim he diverted 112060 from the bank After the shortage was found Cutting lived in Rogers Park Chicago and was arrested while in an insurance office.

Fifty Menier residents testify in Pekin against township officials seeking 20000 dollars. The suit stems from last winter when smallpox was found in Menier and patients were kept at William Lilly’s home until they recovered.
Acting Secretary of State announces that the Russian armed transport Lena, then in San Francisco, will be taken into U.S. custody.
