Deputy Sheriff Campbell secured requisition papers from Cov erher Collins to bring Ben Bowers back from Utah where he is detained by habeas corpus. Bowers, a witness in cases against Don Houstin, was expected to testify but may not appear, delaying trial until next Monday. Irwin Wills from Pontere Reform School is in custody to testify when the case proceeds.

Maggie OConner is jailed on a charge of burying a human body within the city without a health permit after infant remains were found in a yard behind the Minnie Taylor residence on Hayne Street. The case follows a confession by Mrs. Taylor and details about OConner’s arrest and arraignment in police court.
Henry Payne postmaster general of the United States and a Republican stalwart died in Washington at the Arlington hotel at 6 10 p.m. aged sixty from valvular heart disease and dilation of the heart. He had been in ill health for two years with a recent seven day illness and was attended by physicians.
