At the Springfield Illinois state fair last week the lamgent stock show drew big crowds. D. McPherson won first on his black Nor ain team and took awards in Percheron exhibits. Master Mond, a Shetland pony, won saddle pony class over St. Louis champions. Waldo McPherson earned second on Rex.

Florence Shrimer born in Leon don Pa aged in sixtieth year died after years of ill health. She spent most of life in Fairfield and married Paul Sheridan on November 5 1866. Three daughters were born, eldest died in infancy. Funeral held at home today at 8 PM. She was quiet and devoted to family.
