Keosauqua May 23 The Fairfield Keosauqua Interurban line prospects grow brighter as New York partners propose a revised contract. The deal allows subsidies for right of way and promoter expenses, extends construction time, and avoids new county taxes except a possible vote in Fairfield. Bonds are ready, with President Blackledge and directors meeting soon.

Mrs Elizabeth Green died last evening about 8 30 at the home of her daughter Mrs TH W Stoner three miles northwest of the city after a lingering illness She was about 84 and came to Jefferson county in 1846 Surviving are six children Graham in Idaho Allen in Oklahoma Mrs C M Moyer York NE Wayne in Buchanan township and Mrs H W Stoner The funeral is set for tomorrow at 1 30 pm from the home with Rev Thomas Osborn of the local Methodist Episcopal church officiating Interment in Evergreen cemetery

Local officials hear a rumor that the Burlington may abandon No 1 the Denver fast train arriving at 11 p m and reclassify No 13 as No 1 arriving at 3 a m. No official notice has been received and officials cannot confirm changes. If true No 1 may be dropped but No 5 will serve the Chicago to Burlington run with only an hour difference while No 6 remains active.

Prof Huston Re-elected Superintendent at Junction City
Ralph Huston, reappointed as Junction City Kansas school superintendent, will receive a ten dollar monthly salary raise. He is a Fairfield High and Parsons College alumnus, unanimously chosen by the board, and plans to visit his parents here next week with Mrs Huston and their baby.
