Died From Injuries After Buggy Colt Accident
William Bonnett died Friday at his home east of Birmingham from injuries suffered last Wednesday when the colt frightened by the buggy top ran and he jumped free, struck his head, and remained unconscious until death. A prominent Methodist, Bonnett was known in northern Van Buren County and Fairfield. survived by his wife. Funeral services were held Monday at eleven at the home with burial in the Birmingham cemetery.

George Blake Signs Lease on Brazelton House
George Blake of this city signed a lease for the Brazelton House at Mt. Pleasant in a Fair field ceremony. Bergdahl, with contractors and James Purdy, will remodel the hotel and start tearing out the northeast section to rebuild three stories. The lease is protected from the Wallbank heirs in the Present Harlan building title clause preventing hotel use.

Death Claims Two Old Fairfield Residents
Sylvester Clapp died Monday at 7 30 am at the home of his daughter Mrs J Fred Clarke on South Main after several weeks illness. He was born February 29 1824 in Huntsburg Ohio and had lived in Illinois and Burlington Iowa before moving to Fairfield three years ago. Survived by wife and three daughters Mrs L D Clark Mrs J B Ransom and Mrs J Fred Clarke. He was well known and enjoyed meeting neighbors in Jefferson County.

Mrs. Alexander Mitchell died last Monday at 1 o'clock at her North B Street home after a two to three month illness. She was 72 and a longtime Fairfield resident, married to her husband for over forty years. Survived by her husband two sons William and T. R. Mitchell both of Fairfield and five grandchildren. Funeral was held Wednesday.

Death of Mrs. John Batty Droz In Fatal Fall
