Armory plan stirs lodge debate for Company M quarters
An Armory mass meeting Friday will weigh erecting Company M quarters separate from lodges. Fairfield lodge No 629 and the Masons favor lodge rooms on the second floor but equity in real estate is uncertain. Several sites are considered including Briggs street property near the Court Hotel and the Barndollar site. The building would fill a full lot with offices and a 66 by 80 foot drill hall. The ways and means committee will report, and the Jefferson club may be reorganized as a commercial club.
