The dedication of the New Co M Armory is set for Tuesday June 13 with Governor Carroll and state officers present. Old Soldiers of the Civil War will preside and the day features a parade to Burlington station, a grand military ball and concert, and an elaborate dinner.

Thursday evening the Fairfield High School commencement marked the class of 1911 with thirteen boys and eleven girls. Diplomas were presented though Fred Ward’s diploma was misplaced and later found. The event included a Home Coming at Ebenezer church and a feature annual publication listing editors Charles Ireland and Ray Fisher with sections on editorials music and athletics.

First Service Held in Barhydt Chapel at Parsons College

Mrs J Mohler Dies After Short Illness
Mrs J Mohler died Monday morning around four o clock at her West Kirkwood street home after a brief illness. Death followed an operation performed Sunday morning for appendicitis and gall stones she had suffered from for some time. Her death came as a severe shock to relatives and many friends.

The junior annual stage show featured poems and songs by Elsie Davis Blanche Brolin and other students. The class motto We Finish To Begin reflected their four year journey. Robert B Louden mayor or school board president presented diplomas and offered advice as the Class of 1911 prepared to begin their post school lives. An Alumni Association reception followed at the Sumner home in West Burlington Street honoring the graduates.

Tragedy Near Batavia: E. E. Shrom Ends Life by Shotgun
E. E. Shrom, about fifty, unmarried and living alone near Batavia, dies from a self inflicted gunshot wound. His body is found by a neighbor near his Cedar Creek residence with a note reading I have gone to the other world. Coroner and sheriff report the death as suicide after examining witnesses and the scene.
