Decoration Day Exercises At Independent Circus
Decoration day opened bright with a full program in the city park. Veterans, schoolchildren, and citizens marched to the cemetery then to the opera house for prayers, songs, and an Lincoln Gettysburg reading. Rev Billingsley delivered the day’s oration and plans for the Fourth of July were announced.

Judicial convention renominates three judges in Ottumwa
At the second district judicial convention in Ottumwa on Tuesday J B McKenney presided. F W Fichelberger C W Vermillion and M A Roberts were renominated and after the fourth ballot D M Anderson of Albia became the fourth judge. Contenders included Won Ross Keosauqua Walker and O L Bartholomew. The convention was a quiet affair.

The senior class enjoyed a picnic east of town with games and ice cream. they returned in time for a band concert.
