Moving pictures promote rural high schools for farmers
The Department of Agriculture plans a film project to show 100000 farmers the benefits of consolidating one room schools into rural high schools with manual training domestic science and agricultural departments. Assistant Secretary Willet M. Hays says the plan succeeds where attempted, with 2000 feet of film following children from carriage pickup to class, showing wood and steel work cooking sewing seed corn and animal studies. Boy Ira Parks Dies From Tetanus After Wrist Burn
Ira Parks, born November 24, 1897 in Seymour, died at 4:30 this morning from tetanus traced to a July wrist burn. He moved to Fairfield with parents three years ago and attended Logan School, where he was in the fourth grade. Funeral services are planned at his home Wednesday at nine, then in Seymour with interment to follow. The family and community extend their sympathy.
