Farm accident leaves man finger amputated near Stever farm
Per rin Reed lost part of a finger at Stever farm west of town while setting a hay fork. His hand was caught in a pulley as the rope tightened and pulled him a short distance before rescue. The finger was amputated below the final joint. Mrs. Oscar Green, visiting, departed for Mankota Kansas this morning.

Commodore McClain Dies in Peoria Ill
Words reached Fairfield of Commodore McClain's death Sunday in Peoria after a five week fight with typhoid fever. He leaves a wife, parents J E and Mrs McClain, and one sister. A Fairfield High School 1898 graduate, he had worked as an Express Agent in Peoria. Remains were taken to Batavia for funeral and burial in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield.
