Tremont Love Triangle Ends in Miner Heroism
In Tremont a village tale unfolds where Margaret Powel, a native schoolmistress, draws admiration from two miners, Joseph Tregear and Tom Polglaze. Jealousy, study, and affection tilt to a fatal shaft collapse when both rivals ride to a shared rescue, Tom sacrificing himself to save Margaret and Tregear, ending with a grave marker honoring the brave miner.
