A middle aged workman dressed man attempted to leap from the Brooklyn Bridge yesterday afternoon but was seized by a policeman and taken to the station house. He gave name Gustav Fleisher a carpenter saying he could not support his wife and eight children and intended to end his life. A letter to his wife cited desperation over inability to provide. He was locked up.
