Market notes from BuUrFaLo show flour in good demand and firm with winter grades advancing. Cornmeal active, but supply moderate and bids varied. spring wheat sold lower, No 1 hard at 194,000 dollars? per thousand? and July at 1253.1, etc. Detroit and Cincinnati prices listed with mixed rounds, no clear cash-for-options data.
Reports from Erie and surrounding areas include unverified drilling near Girard with no oil indications, a boxing trainer planning a mountain retreat, record hail and ice chunks in Miles Grove, a Chicago railroad paymaster move, a fatal brakeman accident in Kane, a severe fall from a stairwell at Liebel House, and a nocturnal wanderer injured treasure. A public notice forbids dumping garbage on Mullet and Front streets.
Severe storm damage reported crossing the West with disrupted rail service and evacuations. Rescue crews mobilize as tornado activity causes widespread destruction and power outages.
A tornado paused over Calloway County Friday evening damaging farmhouses outbuildings and property. No deaths or injuries reported. A Dallas dispatch notes cattle drives exceed expectations with over two hundred thousand head passing Albany bound trails, not counting more than half the season remaining.
The June 10 raid on Wah Lee’s Chinese gambling house on North Ninth Street found twenty five Chinamen gambling and smoking opium. Wah Lee admitted ownership and was held on $600 bail for trial. Four others tied to the gambling table and opium smoking posted bail to keep the peace. the rest were discharged.
Avon New York June 9 George Harvey of Littleville Avon aged about twenty was employed by E Light. About 5:80 this morning he went to a barn on the mill pond bank. He was missed and found in the pond. It is believed he fell in while getting water for the horses.
At Annapolis Cadet Greene and 24 peers graduated as usual but Captain Ramsay halted three grads Gray Glasscock Webster for applauding Greece. Ramsay ordered Greene and others aboard Santee, later relented after officers and cadets protested and parents watched in silence. Diplomas finally handed amid subdued ceremony.
At four o'clock this afternoon five prisoners confined in the east wing for burglary escaped by removing a large stone from the wall. Authorities reported the breakout at Hensey on June 10 as officers began searches and reviewed surveillance and warder logs for clues.
Among them was Wm. Fleming alias Roy a five year Connecticut prison veteran sought in New Haven for burglary pursued by a sheriff’s posse. In LaxvasTae a Buffalo Express correspondent is in trouble for misrepresenting a church bell consecration story claiming Father Knopp made a sermon attributing the lightning strike to the people’s wickedness. The pastor and church members deny the quotation and demand retraction.
Reports from Washington describe the sale of the Otoe and Missouri Reservation at 14 dollars per acre, a court annulling Maj. Azor H. Nickerson's divorce for fraud and ordering costs. Navy officers may enter Chinese service if needed, and Major Nickerson faces court-martial for conduct unbecoming. John Grant Mackay is arrested in London over explosives. Mitwacese June 11 Special to AP. The body of Emil Jouanon mate of the Petrel was washed ashore. He and two seamen drowned while attempting to reach shore in a yawl that had deserted the captain.

In Fort Woron on June 11 a maniac named Wilson attacked Hayes in the county jail. Officers intervened and pulled off the assailant. Hayes then struck Wilson with a knife, severing the jugular vein and causing instant death.
Special report states Charles Pollock shot his wife and then killed himself after a five month marriage. Police describe him as intoxicated and driven by drink. Pollock belonged to the city’s wealthiest family.
Boston report June 11 states Sullivan the pugilist is sought on a charge of beating his wife. His whereabouts are believed to be in Rhode Island as a warrant is sworn out for his arrest.
The report from Washington on June 11 asserts Victoria faces ill health and mental strain. It mentions an ulcer of cancerous nature in her knee and comments on her belief in spiritualism and various unorthodox beliefs.

Special Dispatch to the Evening Observer reports the Propeller City of Montreal ran aground on the main Oswego docks in fog yesterday morning. She discharged about 600 barrels of flour and whiskey before being freed by the steamer Rupert.
