Longfellow Bust Replicas Arrive From England for Harvard and Maine Society

Two marble replicas of Henry W. Longfellow’s bust, taken from Westminster Abbey and gifted by the Prince of Wales, have arrived in port aboard the Samaria. Miners dispute at Swawnee over Bristol tunnel work

In Swawnee O January 3 considerable dissatisfaction spreads as about forty miners join Baltimore and Ohio terms and go to Bristol tunnel work. A meeting vows to block work though miners claim they have no coal digging authority and will continue despite the meeting.
