Businessman Hoffacker disappears. creditors move on
Yesterday rumors spread of Ernst Hoffacker a Lion Street broker vanishing after missing since Monday. Attachments by Special Surrogate Stearne and Justice Holstein lead creditors to seize Hoffacker stock valued at about $2000 while unsecured claims await a pro rata share. Reports say Hoffacker may have gone to Germany or Africa, though family and friends hope rumor proves groundless. The tale follows a funeral at St Marys for Richard Bermont of Silver Creek.
