Spring Election Results Across Towns Detail Prohibition Stance

The spring election returns show a largely Republican sweep with Coffin winning supervisor by 4 votes, Bell as town clerk, and various highway, justice, and police posts filled across Sherman, Sheridan, Pomfret, Stock ton, Villenova and neighboring towns. Prohibition sentiment varied, with several towns voting for or against license measures and Jamestown shifting to support a license advocate. A countywide pattern shows Prohibition candidates facing resistance and the vote tallies reflecting local fiscal and road funding concerns.
