The state game and fish commission ratified federal waterfowl dates from October 1 noon to November 3 sunset and reduced elk shooting permits to 5 dollars for residents and 25 dollars for non residents. Hold Weekly Livestock Sales At Doland
Drought forces farmers to dispose of livestock. Doland weekly sales, held each Monday for five weeks, have drawn shippers from Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, North Dakota and Wisconsin to buy cattle and feeder stock rather than send to slaughter. Albino Bull Snake Found In Vermillion Street Sump
Vermillion on September 14 reports an albino bull snake about 15 inches long and a year old found on the streets after being run over. The pinkish cream colored snake is preserved in the University of South Dakota museum. Eyes match body color and faint markings aid its identification as a bull snake, said curator W. M. Over.
