Township allotment director opened courthouse session to perfect an organization to administer the allotment plan in Beadle County. A president and other officers were to be elected this afternoon. Two men besides the president to form the county allotment committee. Officers to be named include vice president secretary treasurer. Funeral Thursday for W. D. Morrill of Beadle County
Funeral services for William D. Morrill 62 who died Monday night at his farm home near Miller will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 20 o'clock at Walsh chapel. Rev. A. S. Carlson will officiate with burial in Riverside cemetery. Born in Charles City Minnesota April 26 1871 he came to Beadle county in 1902 and farmed in Theresa township. Surviving are two sons Charles and Frank Morrill of near Huron and two daughters Mrs Evelyn Butters of California and Mrs Minda Aldrich of Eagle Butte.

Pierre September 2. Sale of 18 tracts of state owned rural credit land totaling 3 568.72 acres for 39 815 was announced by George J Gunnison secretary of the rural credit board. Fire Destroys Broadland Home in Early Morning Blaze
Broadland residents awoke to a house fire at about 4 am that completely destroyed the BR. C. Barber residence. Neighbor L. W. Trow spotted the flames, but the blaze had already consumed most of the home. The Barker family, not present at the time, faced significant loss as two rooms of furniture were saved. Mrs. Barber and her sister were elsewhere in Bethel.
