Pierre Sept 14 A strong tax exemption for municipal bonds is affirmed by Attorney General M Q Sharpe. Bonds issued by a city secured by a mortgage on the city light plant and payable from plant revenue are ruled non taxable to South Dakota residents. Also, an opinion says counties or the state are not liable for telephone pole relocation costs for highway work.

Mellette, Sept. 14 Special The first fall farm sale in this vicinity was held on the Baldwin farm. Charles Boyd, moving to Hawarden Iowa, occupied the farm. Prices were satisfactory with spring pigs at $9, cows around $100, and feed calves chickens turkeys and sheep bringing good prices. Horses and machinery moved slowly.
