Bones of Whale Fossil Found Near Prince Frederick
In Maryland near Prince Frederick, Willian L. Jones unearthed bones of a full grown whale believed to be between three and eight million years old after five days of digging. The skull measures seven feet, and the whale may have been about 36 feet long. The bones were donated to the Smithsonian. The youth, a Johns Hopkins geological survey member, found additional minor skeletal parts on the beach near Gibraltar.
