Grand Jury Probes Blame For Fatal Train Crash
BINGHAMTON N Y Sept 7 A grand jury inquiry to assign responsibility for a deadly train wreck that killed 14 and injured many was announced after District Attorney Frick Wooster clashed with Erie railroad counsel. Engineer M H King of Elmira faced accusations of running signals while King rode the milk train that struck the Chicago New York Express. Officials said three freight cars blocked the eastbound rack delaying the express and contributing to the disaster. The railroad argues King was to blame. investigators from I C C and local police will continue hearings as the inquiry proceeds.

Ninety wheat producers signed up in Bonilla and Allen townships for the allotment pan, a record for a single day. In Bonilla 44 farmers elected Ray Cooper, William Radtke, and George Atkin son as committeemen, with a followup meeting set for Monday at 130 p m. In Allen 46 signed up as Senest Ely and Charles Pierson were named committeemen, followup planned for Saturday at 1 30 p m. Remaining organization meetings include Whiteside and Wolsey today, Sand Creek and Hartland Friday, Burr Oak and Westington Saturday.
