CHICAGO October 18 Northwestern university hosted a political forum debating Hoover and Roosevelt. Henry J. Allen argued Roosevelt’s qualifications while Gov Albert C. Ritchie attacked Hoover’s policies and record. Allen cited New York state costs rising by 395 million over three years. Ritchie assailed Hoover for promises not fulfilled.

St Lawrence Woman Dies From Heart Disease
ST LAWRENCE Oct 18 Special Mrs RB Allan Harris died suddenly yesterday from heart disease. She had been a semi invalid for years but had seemed healthier recently. The day before her death she drove with her husband and daughter Rachael to their farm four miles from town. Surviving are her husband a daughter and a son Wesley who is expected to arrive today from Minneapolis for the funeral arrangements pending.
