Reconstruction Finance Corp. Advances Reach 1.55 Billion

The Reconstruction Finance Corp. reports advances totaling 1,550,086,689 from its start on February 2 through September 20, in eight months. The quarterly report to Congress shows 104 business loan authorizations totaling 359,588,446 in the three months ending Sept. 30. Outstanding figures include 1,109,588,077 still owed, with 360,000,000 in loan commitments on September 30.

Green failed to aid farmer says Berry in veto claim

Eureka South Dakota October 20 Tom Berry democratic candidate for governor told a rally that Governor Green passed the chance to aid farmers by vetoing Senate Bill No. 76. The measure would have blocked deficiency judgments on real estate or mortgage notes and possibly helped foreclosed farmers recover livestock and equipment. Senator Bulow spoke for Berry as Berry spoke at Lesla. Aberdeen event set for Green campaign swing includes first Aberdeen appearance tonight with more stops planned in McPherson and Dry counties.

France To Press For Debt Revision

Paris reports Premier Herriot told a chamber committee that France will promptly pay the December installment of the 300 million dollar commercial war debt to the United States while continuing negotiations to cancel or reduce the remaining debt. Stolen Car Believed Dr Wright’s Found Near Watertown

An automobile believed to belong to Dr O R Wright was found near Watertown after being stolen here several days earlier. Police towed it to Watertown for investigation. The sheriff’s office was notified and sent a deputy to Watertown. A rubber-tired car and a shotgun with shells plus a doctor’s medical case and cane were involved.
