A city school superintendent, BE. B. Thomas, 33, whose office was robbed during a safe drill, was sought by police and deputies as three men reportedly attempted the break in. The incident spurred discussion of third party campaigns as the 1932 race heated up with Socialist Norman Thomas and others detailing platforms and hopes for relief, Soviet recognition, and prohibition policy.
