Sturgis Youth Killed in Black Hawk Car Crash

Rapid City dispatch reports Ray Harlow 18 a Sturgis high school student was killed in a late night collision three miles north in Black Hawk Meade county. Miner Shot in Face by Pickets at Hewittville

In Taylorville Illinois miner McGuire was shot in the face and chest by pickets who called him from his Hewittville home. He fired into the crowd of three or four hundred striking coal men. National guardsmen dispersed the crowd with tear gas bombs as about six guard companies kept order.
