Brown County Hosts Economic Conference in Aberdeen

Brown County is set to stage an economic conference on October 10 and 11 to craft a constructive agricultural program. A. E. Anderson of South Dakota State College Extension Service will lead with Eugene Merritt from the U S Department of Agriculture providing support. Local farmers, farm women, merchants, and civic groups will participate with extension specialists to map a long term Brown County plan.

Rural recreation institute under Jack Knapp in Sioux Falls

A four day rural recreation institute is held in Sioux Falls this week led by Jack Stuart Knapp of the Playground and Recreational Association of America. Attendees include club leaders and national youth groups. The program features demonstrations in pageantry, crafts, and rural activity instruction, with plans to extend into early summer under W. T Thier and state 4-H leadership.
