Helen Gardner Recalls Thrills Of Army Fete Opera Tryout
Helen Gardner recalls nine years of coloratura study in Germany and singing for officers at a Berlin War Academy dinner. She describes the colorful uniforms and a nerve wracking audition for Neu Strelitz Opera, where the coloratura voice was rare and a return trip home due to war ended her pursuit.
