Beadle county Red Cross workers were 200 memberships short of the 4 member goal as they pushed the annual campaign toward closing day. Large enrollments in schools and businesses lifted totals at Red Cross headquarters. Dr W L Matlock urged late registrants to visit the Hunt Plumbing post office and headquarters to sign up. He noted about half of memberships support national HQ with substantial state returns expected, estimating around $30,000 to be sent to national headquarters from South Dakota.

Huron Pioneer Dies After Long Illness
Huron pioneer Mrs Janet Yuill Worrall, 90, died after a four year illness from heart disease at the home of her daughter Mrs Janet C. Worrall, 632 Utah avenue southeast. Born November 4, 1835 in Ontario, Canada, she moved to Huron with her family in 1881 and lived there 10 years with Mrs Worrall. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. She belonged to the Presbyterian Church and leaves brothers Hubert Yuill, Cermam and J Yuill in Canada.

Second Artesian Well Adds Flow to Huron Water Supply
Artesian water from a second well, depth 1051 feet, joined the James River system today while the first well continued pumping. G M Anderson, city water commissioner, estimated 50 to 106 gallons a minute entering the river, with water too silty for direct use and sent to setting basins. Officials expect 400 to 500 gallons per minute from each well once pumps are attached. Workers at the Layne shallow gravel wall well on Bolton property faced flooding and caverns, with the shaft down 38 feet as boulders must be cleared to sink the casing further.

Helium Tests Not Confirmed by School of Mines
Dr. Andrew Karsten of the School of Mines in Rapid City said he has not been informed of any helium tests in his department from Camp Creek gas. Geologist J. H.
