A L A Poppy Sale To Aid War Victims

Members of the American Legion Auxiliary Willam Reaves unit plan a Saturday poppy sale in Huron and nationwide efforts. Proceeds fund welfare for disabled veterans, families, widows, and orphans. Poppies are paper replicas made by disabled veterans in hospitals and poppy workrooms. Over ten million poppies have been produced since wartime.

Rotarians Hear Of Shelterbelt Work

Pierce of the U S Forestry Service explains the shelterbelt program aims to create wind and water erosion protection while providing employment. Plans involve farm owners applying, then joint Forest Service and owner investigations and layouts. Charles Jones 77 dies in Bowdle hospital after a month as patient. Born January 3, 1862 in West Union Iowa he lived in Windside Neb Potter County since 1909. Members of the South Dakota Association of Life Underwriters will convene at the Marvin Hughitt Hotel for their annual convention.
