Potter Crops Retarded by Cold in Potter County
Potter county crop prospects were slowed by a week of cold and frost with some corn and flax damaged in isolated reports. Replanting was not widely contemplated. Corn planting nears completion aside from a few late fields as rains last week left soil in good condition and warmer growing weather is expected to boost grain. Overall, prospects for a bumper crop this year are viewed as satisfactory despite delayed growing season.
