King George VI Calls for Peace in Empire Day Address

Sioux City Manis Arrested at Gettysburg

Fred Searls, chief of the investigation division of the attorney general's office, said a Sioux City man named C. J. Jones was arrested by Gettysburg authorities and taken to Tyndall to be charged with burglary of a doctor's office in Springfield, involving drugs. He admitted the burglary and planned to plead guilty.

West River and Hills See Widespread Rain In State

The West River country and northwest state areas received rain with up to two inches in the western section and an inch or more in the northeast. Bad Lands hub reported two inches unofficially and stock water dams were used as grasses revived. Black Hills towns logged varied totals from Edgemont one inch to Rapid City .49 with heavy rain at Hot Springs and good precipitation at several towns.
